big miss by nike... forces you to use a third party wallet (bitgo? wtf is that?)... just let me link my existing wallet. It's soulbound so can't even send it. huge L... the next wave of ethereum will be defined by the community social graph. GG nike, maybe next time.

I don't know why they specifically chose bitgo, but I think their strategy is/was to onboard non crypto natives slowly into this space and getting them used to the concept of wallets.

However, I disagree that Nike completely failed here. They co-created virtual AF1 together with the community. They organized many IRL events to educate people about digital collectibles / NFTs. They own RTFKT that is a web3 native brand.
