Is it the idea or the person? 24 hours ago @balajis.eth suggested using mods and NFTs to enhance Farcaster. A mere mention and now there’s a live working group motivated to tackle it. If a rando shared it, would it have inspired so much action? Probably not. The true effect of “influencers”. We are influenced.

100% I can relate to this. How many times did I say something and no one paid attention. A few days / weeks / months later, someone with a bigger following says it and everyone is amazed. However, it makes sense in some way. Bigger following means credibility, I guess.

There's only one thing that bothers me in these situations: when people who follow me and the "influencer" ignore my idea and like the very same idea of the "influencer..."😵‍💫

Yea social credibility plays a big part of it. And often times using bad metrics like followers. If there was an experiment where two statements were made, 1 by someone with 100 followers, another with 10k, I bet the 10k one would seem more believable. Our psychology is F’d.
