Both at the same time Strength training while keeping your heart rate above 60% of your max heart rate will help increase cardiovascular endurance

I prefer that too but if you go back and forth i.e 1 set leg exercise then 1 set chest exercise the. Back to legs then chest etc until you have done all sets then move into the next two (never do two that use the same muscle group) Doing this will increase your heart rate to a minimum of 60% of your max heart rate increasing cardiovascular endurance all while strength training...
