I Took a Photo!

I took a photo of one of the most famous wood carvings in the world. This carving is so ingrained in our culture, you immediate recognize the proverb and there are even 3 emojis the represent it! Their names are:
Kikazaru (聞かざる), "does not hear", Iwazaru (言わざる), "does not speak", Mizaru (見ざる), "does not see".

You’ll find them 2 hours North of Tokyo at the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, decorating the Shinkyo (the sacred horse stable), constructed in 1636.

I shared my photo of the famous Sanzaru wood carvings today. I also collect kawaii socks  when I travel and I purchased all of these in Nikko. I spent a lot of money collecting official charms at the temples but also collecting adorable souvenirs at the stores in town. I can’t help it. It’s too cute.
