a common theme across the 50+ interviews we've done in the last 10 days is that it is HARD for new users to get started, know where to cast, find their footing and like-minded people. starter packs, /gmfarcaster, FC newsletters, and finding a "onboarding buddy" help — what else? what needs to be better? how?

Channels support newbies. It's where we find non-tech content we can understand and contribute to. We find our first frens and community. Helping channel owners and mods create the best channel possible benefits everyone. Encourage average users to launch channels so more voices emerge as leaders. Channel academy, maybe?

All channels need to go back to being cast-able by everyone. Gating them from "members" and "following" is created a significant amount of friction.

Anyone can join /dv or /socks. All I do is kindly ask they reach out (ask for access, helps weed out the bots as well)... It's not asking much for access to casting in the channel. But, there's a process in which educating them about the channels that do etc.
