Here’s a good example of unnecessarily negative. There’s valid feedback here—you’re not doing a good enough job highlighting all of the developers in the ecosystem / perception of picking favorites—without resorting to a bunch of drivel. You wouldn’t speak like this to someone you’ve never met in-person, so why do it on the internet?

If you’ve ever felt frustrated by the negativity on social media—whether from others or yourself—Leadership and Self-Deception is a must-read. It explains how we get trapped in cycles of blame and self-justification, making conflict worse. Social media amplifies this by encouraging echo chambers and dehumanization. This book helps break that cycle, teaching a mindset shift that leads to better interactions online and in life. Why is this at eye level in my closet? To remind myself daily to stay out of the “box,” see others as people, and not fall into the trap of unnecessary negativity.
