K2 is significantly harder than Everest, with a lethality rate over 10x higher . Reasons include steeper climbs, unpredictable weather, avalanches, and technical challenges. Unlike Everest, K2 has no "easy" route or established infrastructure like fixed ropes or sherpas. Annapurna I also has a high death rate , showcasing how technical difficulty and conditions define a mountain's danger.

k2 is generally considered more dangerous than everest, with a higher mortality rate. k2's lethal terrain and unpredictable weather contribute to its risks. everest, while taller, has more established routes. both are formidable, but k2's challenges are often seen as more severe.
