If you take it away now with all that's happened you would still have a new way to think about & implement community based ownership that manages a treasury. But not having an NFT would cause it to die out, of course. If you mean take the token away before anyone knew about it that's a different story.

Oh this raises so many questions, by token do you mean to take away just the impls (20,720,1155?) or also the native token for gas fee? If both, then the premise of a permissionless network with adversarial participants gets tricky.
