I personally think "own/control your own data" being the punchline for most web3 products is at best extremely weak esp. when facing consumers. 

Consumers don't tend to optimize for "safety" when they are looking for fun. It's rarely ever the primary hook.

I don’t think that data autonomy is only about safety. It’d be fun af to leverage the full power of your Instagram data and social graph on BeReal or Hinge. To take your YouTube views history to Twitch. Your music taste on Spotify to Ticketmaster.

totally understand - but web3 needs mega hit L3 products to even make it worth leveraging the data. today, my wallet says nothing about me - even the ETH balance does not reflect my networth, so not sure where the practical upside with that point is.
