In college I had a great job at the music recording studios and video editing suites at Syracuse University's Newhouse School. I helped people troubleshoot their productions, got really good at using all the tools, and made a ton of brilliant creative friends. I could sign out any equipment I wanted, the coolest cameras, lights, etc. and the best part - I could use the studios after hours. A highlight was recording the demo tape for Prospect, a hardcore band from New Jersey. We did overnight recording sessions. They all crashed on my floor. You can hear me in the "chorus of screaming bros" on a bunch of the tracks. I saw them open for Earth Crisis at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ a few months later. The best part was after the show - watching some kids go immediately to their car and pop in the Prospect demo tape and crank it. That was a million years ago, but it's one of the ways building /sparkhouse ties together my entire career. Let's make millions more of these moments happen for creators.
