My job at Facebook was to bring more content and creators on to Facebook and Instagram. I stood up a distributed global org (local teams, vertical specific teams) of people to do this because we found that the most effective way, by far, to onboard creators to any emerging tech was to meet them where they are. SparkHouse will do the same, but with a focus on web3 instead of web2. Creators should own their content, own their audiences, and have a way bigger share of the value they create. Our model thrives when creators thrive. Think of SparkHouse as a constant pipeline of creators coming onchain, building community and value on emerging platforms like Farcaster. We’re looking for investors, and for mentors to work with creators in our community. DMs always open.

Last year at /farcon I was inspired to start something new in the arena of my previous work at Facebook & Instagram, engaging creators and public figures to help them build content and community. We need to make it easy and compelling for them to get onchain. At first I thought this would mean building a public figure centric Farcaster client, a modern version of something I worked on for FB circa 2014. Many explorations and conversations later, I realized that the best way for me to make an impact would be further upstream - truly meeting creators where they are. We were successful (and I have mixed feelings about that success) at FB/IG because we put in the irl time. Offices and events around the world. Popup studios with legit tech to create, and access to smart, chill people to help you. Programming and community (online and irl) to help you grow. We also took a global view, and respected and reflected the nuance of working in different markets, verticals, and cultures. (continued)

In 2021, @coordinape shipped a novel product to help teams recognize and incentivize mission aligned behaviors. What started as a solution for @yearn was quickly adopted by hundreds of teams, but the barriers to scale were many. Teams had to spend time learning and using the product. Creating tokens took time and money. Someone had to admin it all. That's all changed. Right now, communities are setting up the first @coordinape CoAgents to help them recognize and incentivize values-aligned behaviors where they happen. I love this video from @zemm because it captures the energy of the building happening on @farcaster and @base. We're not far from CoAgents creating new tokens and distributing them for communities with powerful tools like @clanker and @bankr. Things like this happen first and faster on /farcaster. If you're in crypto and you don't get that, you're forgetting why decentralization matters.
