What’s the counter point to @altimor’s take that there’s no real adoption of crypto? Sorry but it feels true that the only adoption has come from technical ppl and speculators whereas normies were using Amazon, Google, Salesforce, etc much earlier — and at the very least the use cases were more clear

The tech is still very rudimentary so yes, it's mostly adopted by tech ppl. The counterpoint is pretty simple though. We're moving towards a digital world => needs digital ownership => needs trustable db tracking digital ownership. It's pretty much inevitable.

Without ownership , society will resort to rent seeking and exploitation. History tells us ppl revolt against it when it happens for too long . Can see this already happening with creators on FB / YouTube etc .

Example - say you spend few years building your Twitter profile and following . You don’t own the profile . Twitter does . One day it simple bans you . No explanation and no arbitration . Nothing you can do . Same thing on Farcaster . You own your profile and following . Just shift to another client .
