Spam Labels have been public for a month and we've seen significant updates to the number of casters with Level 2 Labels (the good one) and the consequences of the Level 0 Label (the worst one) via the Great Follower Purge of February 2025. 

With a resurgence of bot-like accounts this weekend, the algorithm will only get more aggressive. 

I've made significant revisions on this article as the team has given us more clarity around the algorithm as well as included resources on how to save your friends from spam jail and a thread on the teams thinking about spam. 

Please remember this is guidance, not gospel. The algo is secret.  Always appreciate any feedback or areas I can clarify.

The Public Spam Labels should be updated tonight. If the current data says you have a label, do not lose hope.

The labels are updated daily but we only see the update publicly once a week. You may have been upgraded already. Want to test?

Reply to this cast and I will reply back if I got the notification. If I get the notification, I would bet money that your label is updated and we will see that reflected by Friday AM!

I get scared when the labels are updated cause what if i get downgraded from a 2 to a 1 or 0

With the leaderboard and your paragraph post many users now know how to cast properly to not trigger a bad label. Really hope the algo keeps getting better and the amount of false positives reduce

I’ve seen a lot of changes in behavior over the past month. I think the rewards leaderboard is helping people see the type of content the algorithm likes and gets rewarded. It’s not perfect but it’s showing folks how to cast well. 

Many people are changing their behavior and look a lot less spammy.  I think we will see far fewer downgrades as the algorithm gets better.
