I was just standing beside someone who ordered a literal soy latte. I think until this point I didn't even realize that soy lattes exist as an actual drink; my mind only recognized the term "soy latte" as a standardized culture war slur that the opposite tribe sometimes uses against my archetype.

Soy is basically the only plant based milk with any protein, it has a ton of it, and the amino profile is nearly perfect. It's cheap, and non-perishable when sealed. Wild how people have drifted away from it in recent years. There's coffee shops in my area that have oat, hemp, rice, coconut, but they don't carry soy anymore 🤷

I'll give it another shot because of your pitch. I love the rich texture of oat milk. I largely have the milk in my coffee to make it gentler on the stomach, and the fat matters more for that than the protein.

A few years ago when my kid got old enough to eat cereal, I dove deep into the best milk options, and from my research soy came out ahead by a wide margin. Also super easy to buy a month's supply from Costco and not need to worry about it going bad. We still have cow milk sometimes, but soy is the default "milk" in our house. Huge sustainability win as well. I love consuming cow in its various forms, but cow farming logistics is insanely inefficient for what it is.
