A book I read as a kid, I think it was Master of Mazes, the main character had a little AI buddy named PDA, which was confusing because that's when Palm Pilots were coming out, heavily branded as PDAs.

I might be conflating with a similar book but for some reason that's the one my brain is thinking, though I'm not seeing any evidence of a PDA character online 🤷
