We need Zero Knowledge proofs for renting apartments and getting mortgages. Itβs such an insanely invasive process. Iβve had people ask for six months of bank statements and tax returns in apartment applications. I should just be able to generate a probably true hash that says βyes I can afford it and Iβve never missed a rent payment in 20 yearsβ without exposing so much personal information

very viable to do these kinds of proofs these days but the problem is how will you convince the verifier (banks, landlord etc.) to trust a cryptographic protocol

It definitely seems like financial institutions that figure this out early would have a pretty massive competitive edge over their competitors.
