Then there was one ethereum R&D guy who got instabanned from one of the main mastodon servers and the mods basically just said “crypto is a scam”

Mastodon is not decentralized it’s a network of digital gated HOAs where some of them honor each others badge cards

You could say it’s like subreddits (each w it’s own rules and mod drama) but it’s actually worse. If u get kicked off a subreddit you still have your username.

W mastodon your name is “@“ some server. So unless you run your own, you get to start over with a new name and 0 followers
