Are you on iOS? Known bug with iOS passkeys, unfortunately. Better error message in next release. Quit and restart the app, and it should work! Let me know if not

Yes, I'm on iOS. I've now successfully managed to backup the passkey, as you mentioned, a restart of the app might have been necessary.
