how has the US made it legal to gamble in shopping malls in suburbia, comprised mostly of people losing their social security money and life savings at the craps table (go to one and see) but wants to control with complete precision what you are allowed to invest into and how you can trade your investable assets??

It’s all about who they want to control and it’s obvious where they think the power lies. A few people get lucky finally hitting the big time and that won’t really affect them, but an entire class of people making themselves out of nothing is too much of a risk.

A little beside the point but just to illustrate the corruption, in my US State (WA) the State runs the lottery and advertises it heavily as extra funding for education. When the lottery $ goes to edu. though, they take *out* other funds which can then be used for their politician pet projects. Good times
