My own manual count of the poll responses from yesterday:

If the monopolist is a corporation: 19 (monopolize) vs 42 (delay)
If the monopolist is a US gov agency: 8 (monopolize) vs 10 (delay)
If the monopolist is an international gov body: 10 (monopolize) vs 16 (delay)

This may indicate that poll results lean towards delaying AI development rather than allowing a single entity to monopolize it.

It might also indicate the preference for delaying AI in general. 

The questions are framed as picking from two “bad” outcomes. 

But some might see delayed AI as good (due to threats to jobs etc).

This reflects a general preference to consider the long term, opting to delay AI development to mitigate potential risks like job displacement rather than adopting a technology we're not fully prepared to handle.
