you realize this is public information right? nyt is a publicly traded company. advertising is not their main source of revenue, its subscriptions.

Journalists have always been paid well by ad revenue and their reported salaries are 50k+ as an independent contributors to one outlet. The paywall directly goes to NYT bottom line as far as I'm concerned.
