My thoughts on the next evolution of memecoins

The strongest argument for why memecoins are good for the world is they can fund the unfundable, eg most consumer applications

literally 70% of YC batches are just saas clones selling to each other

I don't spend too much mindshare on memecoins, and agree in the best cases with dedicated teams behind the coin, they can fund the unfundable. BUT, that's very very few and far between and even in the case where one takes off that desire to build may even go away due to instant wealth generation.

Put equity behind them in the products being built for the "community" or they're simply an afterthought. Even notable products like Dupe see the money come in and think that's cool now we should try and do something with the coin. But in the end it has nothing to do with the end product.
