i genuenly do not understand sound.xyz is for like ok, streaming services are predatory and pay artists peanuts, but is a new streaming service thats on-chain really going to fix that?

The problem with streaming today is that it’s 1 size fits all solution and artists have no control over the price of their music On sound 1) artists can set their own prices 2) get paid instantly 3) can help find new fans. Fans are actually visible when they support an artist vs anonymous on streaming

id argue that paying for music makes little sense because it costs roughly 0 usd to copy a digital file i have discovered tons of artists through slsk and for those that i really enjoy i support by purchasing physical releases and merch. i am fully aware im the exception to the rule but i feel this is more sustainable

Not everyone wants vinyl or another hoodie. Think digitial collecting will surpass both of those in coming years

It might have a niche like CSGO skins but i dont think the general public really cares about digital collectibles. but yea i def agree that some people just dont want to buy physical things. id prob bet that a large number those people would be into digital collectibles...
