There's truly a story behind every transaction.. I mean, take this Hiraeth for instance, and the transaction used to generate it. 3 years ago today, someone purchased a DAOpunks token (a collection of 1,111 unique NFTs) for 1 $ETH ($4,417.40 at the time). Roughly four months later the NFT was transferred to none other than @vitalik.eth , where it currently resides to this day. The blockchain is a brilliant medium for history. Each event, cryptographically proven and sequenced. Imagine if ancient civilizations left us some artifact that so easily allow us to learn about past lives and culture? Blockchain is that artifact. Now imagine owning a part of that history. This reminds of me a time when I worked for a fintech firm and was given the task to improve "performance" of a consumer front end. It took around 7-8 seconds to first paint, and we wanted to drop it to 1-2 seconds. After a few days of digging, I found the culprit. It was a 6 second timeout left in the codebase for "demoing loading state purposes". It was in production for quite a while. Safe to say, after removing that line, performance markedly improved.
