Matrix is a single server, comparable to IRC but going for the modern Slack-like chat experience, it's decentralized in the same way Mastodon is 'decentralized'. They are also not web3/crypto natives, and I get the sense they don't vibe with crypto given their newer metaverse projects which eschew it. (1/2)
