Don't even get me started! 😅 At a high level: - It's a glorified coupon book: you have to put in work to recoup the value, and even then, the annual fee dwarfs it. - It's an outdated status symbol that too few people re-evaluate from first principles in 2024/2025. Could literally write 10,000 words on this topic and break it down way further, but suffice it to say, I have or have tried all of the premium credit cards and I'd take a Venture X or even a Sapphire Reserve wayyyyy before an Amex Platinum. It's just so hilariously off the mark. SoulCycle/Equinox? Cool... airline credit? Only for incidentals. Hotel credit? Only at very expensive hotels where that amount of money is a rounding error. Could go on and on, I don't know what they're doing over there 😑

The $200 hotel credit is definitely laughable when you actually look through the list of eligible hotels 😅 Curious what you like about the Venture X? Might consider applying.

Wasn't my original intent, but happy to refer you and we can split the referral bonus (can just send you USDC)! 😜 Quick rundown: - 2% back on everything, minimum. Can do better on hotels/cars/flights if you book through the portal. Great for Costco. - $395 annual fee, but you get $300 of that back for booking any kind of travel through the portal (which is actually *really* good). So as long as you take one trip per year, you're down to $95/year annual fee. - Beginning on your first anniversary, you get 10K bonus miles (~$100-200 depending on how you value them), so at that point, you're already on the black in terms of the annual fee. - The lounges are sick and super modern (e.g. ton of grab and go snacks/begs) and they're continuing to build out more of them. You can also bring in guests for free (which you can't do with Amex these days) and they're generally not as crowded. lol WC is cutting me off, you get the gist!
