Technical hurdle

Even with the ‘easy’ solutions out there, the ongoing worry of misconfiguring something or failing to update and getting slashed is a heavy burden. 

My nightmare is doing something wrong or missing an update and losing the 32 eth

Ser, I am stupid. I still made it with dappnode. It really is rather easy and people will help you with any question, both from the dappnode but also the ETHstaker community.

Don't underestimate yourself. Try a testnet first. I joined the original testnet and have been running my validator since genesis. I have no coding background whatsoever. The testnet is already scary and it's the best thing to do to prepare for the real thing.
