what a sad story. my reactions:
- academia, not even once
- poly, not even once. (no judgement, i just personally don't want the kind of turmoil it tends to create)
- we could use a more rational, principled pool of grant money to fund people like this

This just got more and more absurd. Especially the part when protesters called for him to go to prison! As a cancer survivor, this is deeply saddening/maddening.
