Where did the title "the puzzle box came from"?

The title of the novel revolves around a 19th century puzzle box that is booby, trapped and filled with deadly challenges. The main character of the novel, Mike Brink, who is a savant level puzzle solver, is invited to Japan to open it. There are puzzle boxes in Japan, and if I can find one, I’ll cast a picture now.
