And how does Justin propose we get there?

IDK about Justin, but I see some choice here β with a bit of awareness, one can make the conscious choice to avoid "extractive forces" as much as possible. Using the word "luxury" implies this is not available to everyone β perhaps it requires lots of money. Like many things, money would make this easier, but it's not completely unavailable anyone.

BTW I found "extractive forces" in this very relevant cast by @danicaswanson: https://warpcast.com/danicaswanson/0x5fc51a75 "It calls for learning to say no to many things, including many we'd genuinely love to do β not out of self-punishment or masochism in the name of monastic discipline, but out of awareness that every yes we utter means a no to countless other things (implicitly or explicitly). [...] It calls for withdrawing our energy from all extractive forces that leave humans drained without adequate reciprocation."

Thanks for reading and quoting that piece, @wevans247.eth. "...as much as possible" is key. It's important to acknowledge the limits of personal choices and our ability to refuse in the context of a structurally extractive culture. At the same time, we're not completely powerless. To the extent that we're able to withdraw from extractive forces, we can create more room for care, rest, etc.
