Every once in awhile I discover a new-to-me piece of dark ambient-drone music with a low-frequency bass element that entrances me enough that I put it on repeat for hours. Here's the latest. Listening to this makes me grateful for my subwoofer. Still wish I lived in a space where I could set up a vibroacoustic lounge with tactile transducers, though. Hopefully someday... https://slitheringblackrecords.bandcamp.com/track/death-on-cassette-lake-of-rancid-dreams

The dream, our sub in the living room, we got it next to the couch and it does vibrate the couch a lot 🥹 I’ll have to check this out

Sounds like fun. Give it a spin and LMK if you like it. My makeshift solution (for a studio apartment) is to just sit close enough to the subwoofer that I can feel the bass vibrations. Hardly the ideal listening position, but it does have the tactile element, so there's that...

I can see that track being really good for focus, it was rattling some of the house 🤭

It's not for everyone, for sure... lol. But it tickles my brain just right. With this on loop I can just trance out and write for long stretches of time without even looking up, or just sit and gaze at raindrops on the window with my cup of tea. Blissful. My musical tastes are super finicky -- enough so that I even annoy myself sometimes -- so when I find something I love this much I just binge-listen.

Yeah, it’s not what I would want to listen to for “music” music, but I do put on the Headspace playlist on Apple Music when I’m trying to focus and cut distractions (there’s typically no lyrics and it’s electronic/ambient) It would fit in nicely in that “Headspace” utility for sure. I can feel it. It’s a bit on the eerie side if you were just trying to take it in as music music. 😌
