Is it illegal to give away money to followers?

What if I said I would give 1 ETH to a randomly chosen follower this Friday? 

Screw it, let's do it. I'm gonna give someone 1 ETH on Friday.

Ok, this went a little crazy. Woke up to 1000+ notifications. 

I love hearing everyone’s story. The good and the bad. So many people doing good in the world and we all have our struggles. 

How should I decide or pick who to give the money to? 

I want it to be fair, and meaningful to someone.

Those who need help the most will find their way,  
Even without knowing, they will shine light in the darkness.  
The energy that comes from their heart is pure and bright,  
And this energy will guide them on the right path, even through the darkest nights.
