What are some cases where the thing that you think some faction should have done to maximize their chance of winning is something that goes _against_ your values?

The two must diverge at least sometimes!

Why did they lose? Because they failed to conform to my preferences. They did stuff I hate. Had they conformed to my preferences, and did everything I like, they would have surely won.

super interesting point! sometimes doing what’s strategic doesn’t align with what’s ethical or humane. reminds me of those tricky moral dilemmas in history 🤔
