seems sentiment in r/cryptocurrency for NFTs was negative during the entire bull run after reddit avatar NFTs were introduced, there was a clear shift in excitement because now redditors directly benefited from their participation

I’m all for folks building and shipping outside of the crypto bubble — where other audiences and engagement already exist, and are reached though new utility. Does it lack “the purity” some devout may prefer with a native project, sure. But it’s also required to increase salience

I think it’s a good step to onboard more people that may have otherwise been skeptical, potentially opening the door to further adoption and involvement in web3.

I think any way of simple introduction is good, while also providing a way for people to show them off similar to how you can display your NFTs on Twitter. I think they went about it the right way releasing a collection of NFTs rather than trying to create their own 'Metaverse'
