dictating how a job is done instead of focusing on the quality of the resulting work is 🤡 behavior imo

hmm, I think this is different parallel I draw is the usage of computer imagine if a founder says - if you cannot use a computer to do your job - don’t bother joining our company. doesn’t sound as clownish. ultimately what matters is the quality of work. but what also matters is what it takes to keep producing quality work into the foreseeable future. if one believes that without AI that will not be possible, it is not that outrageous

good take. i’m not certain most understand how useless ai can be for industry-leading professionals, though. it’s good at the easy stuff, but it isn’t very capable of innovation. hopefully we get there!

I don’t think, ai by itself - at least at this stage - is about innovation. It’s more about increasing productivity. Innovation is still a human thing. By removing friction and generally speeding up things, you free up humans to innovate more. It’s a theory, and I think it’s well grounded. I see it myself when I am getting answers to my questions with much less friction and much faster just because of the ChatGPT app on my phone. It’s definitely giving me more time to do other things.

dope. i think i agree. i have to use a lot of discretion with what i use it for vs not, but am definitely much more productive with it overall. it’s a great learning tool and has largely replaced my google and wikipedia usage 🤌
