Operative word is "can" - L2s don't have to be efficient at the cost of being fragile. Based rollups that make conservative tradeoffs are built for hard times too and can inherit almost all of the L1's benefits.

the positive thesis for all of it, mid, left, and right being positive sum is that we need to 100X global GDP somehow, any movement up, no matter where it comes from is towards the effective acceleration of everything argument. individually, yes pick the left or right side to capitalism on hyper-financial markets and becoming more financial independence. But if you're inside the sphere of this, you're guaranteed to win even while operating in the mid-range.

I think any EF researchers should be trusted to take advisor roles and trusted to opt out whenever there’s a conflict of interest. I always trusted these 2 and so no surprise they came to some difficult decision. Above all, it’s bullish for Ethereum and ETH.

Just because an application is free to deploy an L2 does not mean that its users will consider migrating there. Protocol Chains may compete against general-purpose rollups but will likely find that their implicit fragmentation makes it difficult to achieve
