Looks like the concerns about L2s being able to avoid paying higher gas fees were greatly exxagerated. Millions of $ in ETH are now being burned by blobs each month. Funny what healthy competition does when there‘s actual demand to be served and incentives are aligned.

How many people will build a game that is fully inclusive to everyone and doesn't require a multi hundred or thousand dollar investment? How many games can people actually play? It was a weird bubble of it. It looks good, but it won't be sustainable in the long run.

Operative word is "can" - L2s don't have to be efficient at the cost of being fragile. Based rollups that make conservative tradeoffs are built for hard times too and can inherit almost all of the L1's benefits.

I think any EF researchers should be trusted to take advisor roles and trusted to opt out whenever there’s a conflict of interest. I always trusted these 2 and so no surprise they came to some difficult decision. Above all, it’s bullish for Ethereum and ETH.
