Was talking with a physics professor at MIT today about inflation (space-time not the boring kind) and curiously his theory was that space-time inflation started before (and even led to) the Big Bang This of course sounds strange. For many non-creationist folks the Big Bang is the genesis of everything. So it begs the question; how much time and what was there prior to the Big Bang? Billions of years? Eternity? Femtoseconds? Was there simply time but nothing else? Fascinating to think about. He also invited me to take his course on Black holes and time travel 🤓

Kind of limiting to think of space time as linear.
