That's fair, but you have to remember that (especially for alt L1s) you might need to install a new wallet app/extension and transfer funds

Saying you're not going to use a website because your browser can't access it is a more reasonable thing to do

(That's why I like wallet software that supports multiple chains)

The current reality we live in is your comment above. I think the OP’s statement should be more framed as to where we want to/will get to. But wallets and lack of interoperability are the limitation and reality right now.
