Today, I found myself Googling "selective memory" to see if it actually exists. I’ve noticed that whenever someone reminds me of an unpleasant event from my past, I often have no recollection of it. However, I vividly remember every good experience I've had. There are some bad incidents I do recall, but not as clearly as the good ones. It’s not that I consciously choose to forget these events, they just don’t stay with me. I’m not sure if this is a medical condition, though Google says it isn’t. I just hope it won’t have any impact on me as I grow older.

I feel since it has to do with forgetting negative things you wouldn’t likely wish to be associated with anymore, that makes it make sense.
