my first job i made $7.25 an hour serving food at a retirement home (age 17)

whenever someone asked for extra hot food the chef just put it in the microwave…he made damn good soup tho 

i ragequit because they tried to call me in on a holiday i had specifically said i couldn’t work and they told me i was letting the team down lmao 

any place that exclusively hires high schoolers probably has some shady shit going on, just saying

my first (full-time) job was in an independent eyewear fashion start-up. I started with a £18k salary, the minimum wage in the UK at that time, but accepted it because i knew the industry was ‘just like this when you start out’ and i had grand dreams for my fashion career.

i got fired after a year 🤡 my guess as to why is that i was getting too ambitious with the creative vision for the company, and i was stepping on the Creative Director’s toes.
