Last night I got a call to help rescue a cat that had fallen into this urban water channel, and had been trapped there for about 10 days. So, I decided to step up and went to help.

When I arrived, I helped lower the trap. We lowered it with a long rope and placed tuna at the very back of the trap to lure the cat inside.

We dropped the cage and threw some tuna to attract the cat... About 10 minutes passed before the cat started to peek out, but he wouldn鈥檛 come out completely. He was very distrustful, and if he noticed someone watching from the other side of the urban canal, he would get scared and retreat. Finally, he came out and ate all the tuna, entered the cage, but the trap didn鈥檛 activate. The cat returned to its hiding place, so we pulled the trap back up to try again.

We decided to make an adjustment: we tied a rope to the button that activates the trap. This way, when the cat was inside, we could manually trigger it from above to ensure no mistakes. After a few more minutes of waiting, the cat came out again. This time, he entered the cage, the girls on the other side of the urban canal gave the signal, and we successfully triggered the trap! Finally, the cat was transported to a new temporary home where it can recover. It was a long night, but totally worth it! (Video in the comment) 馃憞馃憞
