Yesterday, I experienced something I thought could never happen to me in my 8+ years in crypto.

I let my guard down, got too confident, and lost access to my Telegram account. Here's what happened and what I learned. 🧵

Out of nowhere, I was logged out. My account was gone. I realized the number now belongs to someone else, and they deleted my Telegram account.

At first, my heart raced—not because of the chats—but because I recently started using a trading bot on Telegram.

If you remember, I recently mentioned this wallet. I deposited $1000 into it, and at its peak, it grew to $4000. At the time of writing this, it’s now around $2500.

It’s not life-changing, but losing it would still hurt.

I panicked. I hadn’t exported the private key for the wallet connected to the bot, and I didn’t have a backup either.

I started scrambling, searching everywhere for the private key. After what felt like forever, I finally found it saved in another messaging app.

I quickly imported the private key to a new wallet and transferred the funds to safety.

Luckily, I didn’t lose any money this time. But this was a wake-up call: I’ve been running on autopilot, and it’s time to get serious about security.

Here’s what I learned and what I hope you’ll take away from this:
🔐 Enable 2FA
📱 Update your phone number
🛡️ Back up your private keys securely
🚨 Revoke wallet access to unnecessary apps/platforms

It doesn’t matter how experienced you are in crypto—this is your sign to double-check everything.

Don’t wait for a situation like mine to wake you up. Have a backup plan. Stay safe out there.

My Telegram was tied to an old phone number I hadn’t used in over 4 years. I never updated it, didn’t enable 2FA, and assumed being logged in across devices was enough to stay safe.

I was wrong.

I mean yes, it was compromised but the account was deleted.

It shows as deleted account now.
I think the person opened and saw a bunch of group chats in English and was super confused haha, then proceeded to delete the account and then created a new one with that number.

I think your tg may be compromised cuz this happened alot  to my fren and some was able to get it by spamming to get the sms because it was taking too long to receive it  
Or some they never got it back 

+ we def all should run those securities in additional store the seed phrase(or anything important in a notebook)
