PS: in another world, this flower by @afuro would have gotten purchased and taken home to be displayed during breakfast. Perhaps that portrayal is best saved for another timeline.

Cheers to everyone who made this piece what it is and if you haven't already, feel free to mint it (or mint two to burn for the animation), OR even just share it with someone who enjoys art. https://basepaint.xyz/mint?referrer=0xeFa845164E612fe623ac21380AfC8ec78F22e3c3

In our little corner of /base, on an L1 called /ethereum, in a market called crypto, in a world full of people who are really more alike than different.

Though I didn't have pixels at the time, it was heartwarming to see everyone working together to create the quaint little piece available for minting. In a space that often gets tarnished with bad headlines, this canvas is yet another reminder of just how special BasePaint is...

As if @manytle.eth was able to read my mind, they beautifully transformed the key components from market view into the breakfast setting. They also did so in a way that allowed everyone wanting to help, to play their part.

With help from community members like @ernestyu9988 @takicks.eth @thessalonikiboy and @manytle.eth (who helped design many of the key components of part 2 of the canvas), as soon as the flower market was bustling, it was being transformed into a lovely little tablescape.

With a basic sketch, and with help from @0xnader's pinned messages fix, BasePainters were able to fill out the market, first with blooms then with a varied of customers. Including this good boy by Abhi and @designsb

Zooming in more would provide the ability to showcase the flowers purchased from the market earlier in the morning. "Perhaps the floor bisecting two stalls in the market, that I was sketching up, also might become a table runner" I thought to myself.

What would the second canvas look like? To provide some unity between the two canvases, I thought we should preserve the top-down view and try to utilize elements from the previously painted canvas.

Two canvases was probably the right number. What would those two canvases look like though? I knew I wanted the community to explore the idea of an overhead view for the longest time. Coincidentally, it was pretty easy to imagine a market with the tops of the blooms shown.

With such a lovely /basepaint palette, I thought it would be fun to tell the story of someone picking up flowers at the local flower market for a breakfast party with friends. Pretty early on, I figured one canvas wasn't going to cut it.

When I'm painting, I often try to tell a story. In this case, with the theme "Hide and Seek," I tried to imagine how a bunch of kids would be hiding in an attic. What would the attic look like? Probably very crowded with belongings. What belongings would go there? Probably things the owners wouldn't want in the main house. There's a old claw-foot table, decorative chair with ornate carvings, an IKEA lamp from their son's college days, a cactus sculpture that doesn't fit the current decor. I also tried to think about how those hiding would use the materials available to them. There would probably be a lot of sheets covering things so, let's use those. There would probably be a lot of boxes and units to hide behind, so let's show kids hiding behind those. Lastly, I try to inject some humor. The eyes all tell a story. Who's there? What are you doing? The cat is surprised to see someone joining them in their normal hangout spot. These are some ideas I just thought of while drawing this piece.
