Setting Goals vs. Creating a System When it comes to getting things done, do you focus more on setting specific goals or creating systems to stay consistent? Strong goals can be a powerful motivator, but without a plan to execute, they can be easy to lose sight of. This is an area where I need practice. My head is full of good ideas (I think) and goals to achieve but when it comes to getting them done, sometimes I fall short. So, I thought this would be a great topic of the day, and one that I could hopefully learn a thing or two from. How do you handle this? Do you create a plan to execute on your goals or do you have another process? Tell me about it!

I have similar struggles. They involve setting too many goals too spread out and 7 things 92-95% done. Or, I set goals really high to where they sound unachievable, then smash through, exceeding my goal. I don't like too much structure 'cause I am creative and a critical free thinker, which has led to my biggest successes, but some form of accountability is good for me. I choose to aim high because that is how I find out what I am truly capable of, which so far has been a fair amount. Right now I am in the hardest time of my life hands down, with no close second. 90% is someone else's doing. The 10% is mine is because I am choosing to learn all new ways of monetization to ensure I can be the Dad my son needs regardless of what form that takes as I battle the Borderline Bombshell and her barrage of lies and multiple personalities. But she will not ruin my son's life, nor mine much longer. The GOAL is getting him free of her mental illness and Full Custody and I have every intention of exceeding that GOAL.
