I can only recommend sci-fi - The Foundation by Isaac Asimov.
Plenty of mystery in that.

Love getting lost in spreadsheets and equations, and then forgetting it all when my guitar begins to howl.

The Complete Robot is also a good one of his to start with. It’s short stories. What I love about Asimov is his stories always have unexpected endings. They’ll have you guessing right up until the end.
