I believe there is a real, complex decision all protocols starting up have to make: the level of centralization of your system. I’ve been working with many nascents ecosystems such as starknet & sui, and it feels like the more « decentralized » you are in a first place; the worse the devX and consistency.

Definitely the more decentralised you become, the harder it is and longer it takes to move forward. But that’s not always a bad thing. I think with a lot of projects, there needs to be a balance. Not everything needs to be fully decentralised.

Well even on things like standardization. For instance on SUI, you’ve got 5-6 DEX, all of them have different naming for variables. It really slows down dev. adoption. On eth all of them are using the token0/token1 because ecosystem was mature & old enough to standardize when AMM appeared.
