Pretty crazy how much I feel on the outside of Twitter now.

Spent years developing a personal brand on there.

Now I go on for a few hours and start doubting myself and feeling like I’ve lost touch. 

Hard to explain but what’s important there very loosely resembles what I find important to me here.

I was drawn in by rappers launching tokens on pumpfun and how we should adapt our model at @cooprecs to better support and capture that demand.

Then I realize it’s counter to the entire intention of what we’ve been doing which is supporting rising artists who need and care about the money. 

So much brain rot.

I get that, feel pretty detached from the culture and conversations there nowadays 

The twitter algorithm feeding me pure brain rot is also not helping lol

It never quite worked for my brain, needed it for work with start-ups back in 2013. Neve built a big audience there either so I am now here fully at home.  Even Linkedin with my 4K connections bores me. Deleted IG and FB years ago. All in then. Will delete my X end of 2024

I tried for 3 years to integrate on Twitter, but the more time passed, the worse it got. I had no visibility anymore, and the algorithms only worsened this degradation. Here, everything is different. You can feel that the team is developing something different and benevolent to improve the quality of exchanges.

But sometimes... we don't believe it :)

But we are more adaptable than we think :)

Twitter is changing away from us.  I mostly get influencers, degens and stuff I don't care about in my timeline.  Community doesn't seem as important there.

i feel this ive focused on FC long enough now that I’m not keeping up with Twitter

but I’m here to build my business and FC is 10x more effective for that.

Twitter is emotional labor for me - vicious culture war and people crying out for help with their issues (nothing wrong with trying to make an impact there, just feels way different). It’s partly a function of scale, partly historical accident.
