Actually pretty crazy to realize that we don't have mass adoption of the onchain versions of pretty much every major consumer app that exists today. YouTube, Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter are all still up for grabs. Early bets are in - but it's truly still anyones game.

Operating services for the masses requires some legal skills that very few people have currently in Web3. You can’t yolo-launch such a service and expect billions of users without respecting GDPR and copyright laws. That’s the barrier to entry.

The first crypto social was launched 10 years ago. The most successful one was Steemit from 8 years ago. A lot more were tried last cycle, but general crypto adoption was still too small. They also tend to have a shitcoin ponzi which guarantees death in the bear.
