As much as I want a major cycle to start in early 2024 - a lot of signs indicate that this won't happen until 2025 - L2s are too complicated - Smart wallets are not the default - Unclear what the main "meta" is - Normies don't care about the Halving New users (and liquidity) won't come onchain until these are solved.

I respectfully disagree here. L2s are already pretty simple (Base!) and are getting simpler (OP bridging). Embedded wallets are getting popular. Main meta = games & social Normies don't need to care about the Halving, they just need to see the BTC price going up because of it.

I think these help, but not the dealbreakers to adquiere new users will. They will come when there is a use case / application they can use and enjoy. The magnet of coming here to make money won’t take us too far

I think the next cycle will likely kick off because of novel use cases rather than infrastructure improvements and narratives Wallets were not easy to use when Uniswap and Compound launched, and gas prices were sky high during the NFT boom. Didn’t stop the froth

We have been in BTFD environment for months now. New cycle stated 6 months ago. It is not going parabolic but bottom is almost certainly in and long time frame trending up (with dips of course)

Late 2024 early 2025. Previously I was more bullish on smart wallets but native account abstraction + MPC or custodial wallet makes more sense as it’s cheaper and easier to set up, native AA makes AA default for every EOA wallet.

Normies only care about one thing sadly. New ATH and number go up. Once one of the majors (possibly Bitcoin) then all news outlets will talk about it and that's when madness really starts.

With smart wallets, is anyone at least trying to make it more seamless by having all your separate smart wallets connect with each other so you wouldn’t have to worry about owning 100s of wallets across different platforms? Or is this technically not feasible yet?

True - although there is still a large pool of early adopters that will come through as a result of BTC and potential ETH ETFs. UX is actively being worked on - I’ve seen at least 12 DeFi super apps launch or show up on Twitter over the past fortnight. Watch this space - we build fast!

When the meta around smart wallets, passkeys, embedded wallet etc. will be consolidated, it'll explode fast. Agreed its not tmw yet. So exciting to see so many working on this, with UX/DX first approaches
